About Us

Sixth College Technology Committee is a dedicated group of UC San Diego students that organizes technology-related events for both Sixth College and for the greater UC San Diego student body. As part of the Sixth College Student Council, our goal is to integrate recent technology with existing culture through events.

Winter GameFest is our committees annual electronic sports and video game culture event. Winter GameFest facilitates face-to-face gaming rather than gaming in virtual environments, which brings members of the video gaming community together in a celebration of gaming culture and tradition. Tournament settings provide high quality spectator experiences for UCSD students and unique opportunities to participate in such events.

The first Winter GameFest was held in 2006 and had less than 50 attendees in a one-day format. Last year, Winter GameFest 2013 had 3,000 attendees including more than 500 competitors across 7 major title tournaments and ample opportunity for drop-in play. Winter GameFest has grown to be one of the largest student-run events on campus, and is a premier competitive video-game event in Southern California.
